Argentina; Government denies intent to buy arms from Russia and China

The Chief of the Cabinet of Ministers of Argentina, Santiago Cafiero, denied that the Government had sent a letter of intent to Russia and / or China to purchase war material. Cafiero made these statements during his appearance before the Chamber of Deputies of the National Congress, where he gave details of the defense policy that the Executive is carrying out.

Regarding acquisitions for the re-equipment and modernization of our Armed Forces, Cafiero explained that said process will be carried out through the implementation of the National Defense Fund (Fondef), whose investment policy is contained in the Annual Investment Plan presented to the Defense Commissions of Congress.
